Jesus on the Streets (on a beautiful day) - August 14, 2022

It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Brockton to be serving the homeless. The city was relatively quiet, but we still served 84 meals of chicken parmesan casserole and salad, along with fruit, home baked goods, snacks and cold drinks.

News and prayers include, Richelle who is hoping to get out of the shelter and into a proper home. Raymond reported that Clara (80 years old?) hurt her back and hip lifting too much. Rynnard wants prayers for willpower over his addiction. Devon is praying for an opportunity to work with animals. Eddie is worried about Kristin who is still losing too much weight. Chris and Jacqueline are praying for sanity on the streets. (Jacqueline was looking under the weather.) Mary just had a pacemaker installed and abdominal surgery, with a drain installed, and yet is living in the homeless shelter. (How can that be?) Kevin is asking for prayers for forgiveness (to forgive himself). Tony is finally out of the hospital after surgery for throat cancer where he lost his vocal cords. He’ll be re-learning to speak using a special microphone, but he was so happy to see us! He seems to be in great spirits and is excited to see how God will be using him (he’s getting a pastoral certificate). Olavo looks really good and was excited to tell me he still has the hat I gave him. One woman we met is getting propositioned by a number of strangers because a pimp keeps telling people her body is for sale and her husband is not defending her.

It was a wonderful day and we are thankful to all those who support our ministry including The Fellowship, Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro, South Shore Community Church, Grace Chapel Foxboro, Church of Emmanuel, Community Covenant Church (E. Bridgewater, MA)
