Rodman Award - Center Stage
LYNN Ministries was honored by the Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center in Foxboro with the Center Stage Award, which “honors a hometown hero who consistently goes above and beyond to help others and improve the lives of those around them.” Here is the speech:
On behalf of the board of directors, and our hundreds of volunteers, I want to thank The Rodman Awards organization for honoring LYNN Ministries with the Center Stage Award. I also want to congratulate all the other award nominees. You are making a difference in our community. You may not always be recognized, but your organizations are what make this community strong.
Homelessness and extreme poverty can strike anyone, but it particularly preys upon people who suffer from physical abuse, mental abuse, mental illness, and substance addictions. LYNN Ministries’ primary goal is to ease the suffering and restore the dignity of people living on the margins of society. So far, we have served over 67,000 meals and countless provisions, on the streets of Brockton, Attleboro and surrounding communities. Awards like this help us to advocate for those who are too often invisible and silent within our society.
Thank you again for recognizing the work of LYNN Ministries to improve our communities.
