Jesus on the Streets (with roses & rainbows) - May 9, 2021
It was a warm day in Brockton (finally!). We served 78 people sausage and broccoli quiche across 4 locations. We gave roses to each of the moms that we served and there were so many touching moments and heartfelt prayers.
Mike-in-the-woods is still in rough shape but at least he’s now on antibiotics. Quentin has a job and has reduced his drinking to only 4 nips per week (progress!) and we’ve set a goal for only 2 nips this week. Jason said he’d used up his allotment of prayers (impossible) while his son was beating leukemia. (We prayed anyway and he ended up in tears.) Sadly, Reuben is still doing heroin while being in a wheelchair with a colostomy bag and sleeping in a tent. Donny is off his meds and acting very erratic (kind of worried about him). Ruth is afraid of upcoming surgery to put rods in her neck.
These are just a bunch of real people struggling through life. When you’re thinking life is hard, share some love with those around you. Happy Mother’s Day!
