Jesus on the Streets (with even another death) - July 23, 2023

It was a beautiful day in Brockton (no rain!!!!) where we served 106 meals of chicken, rice, and veggies. It was also somber as we added another beloved friend to the list of those who have died this year. (I will write a separate note about my dear friend Pastor Tony who died on Thursday.) I am so done with death! So so done. 😢

We had a solid team today, which was really fortunate because emotions were high and tears were flowing. There were many prayer requests:

- Richelle is praying to get out of Brockton, too many drugs, too much violence, too much heartache. She can’t escape her demons in this city.

- Rashawn (haven’t seen him in several months) has been feeling depressed and doesn’t know how to fix it. (But God does.)

- Kenny (walks with a cane) was finally reapproved for disability and social security. Hoping to get out of shelter and his life back on track.

- Anthony (young one) is still mourning Matty’s death and there isn’t yet a report on the cause. He introduced us to his goddaughter. He’s thankful that the doctors have adjusted his meds and he hasn’t had a seizure in 3 weeks, even when working outdoors in the heat.

- Tara is asking for prayer for her surgery tomorrow for skin cancer on her head.

- Mary is praying for better health and reunification of her family.

- Chris is praying for surgery on his thumb.

- Larry is praying for forgiveness and his desire for vengeance.

- Pastor Roberto needs prayers for the burden he carries in ministering to the poor and homeless on a daily basis.

- Will is heartbroken that his brother died 1.5 weeks ago.

- Tracy and all at Pastor Roberto’s church need prayers for the loss of our friend Tony.

Thank you all for helping us to fulfill God’s call on our lives and ministry!
