Jesus on the Streets (on Father's day) - June 18, 2023
Sunday (Father’s Day) was a pleasant and busy for the LYNN Ministries team from The Fellowship as they served in Brockton.
We celebrated Father's Day by serving our dear friends in Brockton. 103 people came through the line to receive a delicious home-cooked meal, courtesy of our many ministry partners at the Fellowship. As days in the city go, this was uneventful but joy filled. The beautiful day brought out a crowd, but serving worked smoothly and people were in good spirits and eager to talk with us. As one of our new team members said, it was important to see that the homeless community is real people with many of the same needs, desires, and challenges that face all of us.
We were excited to celebrate with Sammy 28 days of sobriety and we pray that God gives Sammy victory over his addiction to alcohol.
We prayed with George who is heartbroken over the loss of his neighbor and good friend, Bruce. Likewise, George is struggling with the sadness of having loved ones repeatedly disappointment him.
Melvin asked us to pray for a place to live for him, his wife, and child.
Thank you Lord, that your grace is sufficient to cover all our inadequacies and sin. Teach each of us to live with eyes wide open to the needs around us and with a renewed sense of purpose as we seek to rise to the challenge of letting the light of Christ shine through us and to others.
Thank you again to all our supporters and to The Fellowship Homeless Ministry Team!
