Jesus on the Streets (on a cool, sunny day) - March 27, 2022

Here’s a report from the team on Sunday, which was led by a faithful couple who have come to know and love our friends on the street.

It was a cool, sunny, but blustery day that saw us serving over 70 meals. The hearty shepherd’s pie provided a warm lunch, despite the use of peas. One guy (in the wheelchair with a red jacket) good naturedly rejected the idea of peas as an ingredient (while still eating them). We were grateful to be able to satisfy everyone who came to us with a hot meal, snacks, fruit and hot coffee, hot chocolate, or both. Though grapes were the most popular, pears ran a close second. The pace was steady, allowing more time for friendly chats and getting to know each other. The sun lightened everyone’s mood. We were able to pray for healing, jobs and a warm bed for our friends. We were also joined by two women who came to learn about the ministry and how it might be spread into other locations with similar needs.

Specific prayers by Pamela for safety and health. Matt needs housing. Andrea is missing her daughters. Daniel needs healing for a hernia and liver surgery. Matt is worried about his son. Chris and Jaclyn for health and mental awareness. Anthony for re-recovering from alcoholism. Cherish is worried about her sick daughter.

All in all, we were blessed by God to be given the opportunity to spend the day seeing friends and meeting new people. Thank you.
