Jesus on the Streets of Brockton (on a windy day) - January 9, 2022
Today was windy and raw in Brockton but at least the rain held off. We served 54 meals but many of our friends stayed in the shelter due to the weather.
We are so proud of Anthony who is now 6 months sober, even as he mourns the passing of his friend Black. (Black got Anthony started on the path to sobriety.) Tony is sleeping in a tent with a bad back. Jennifer and Wendy are both living on the streets and trying to stay safe. Chris is frustrated waiting for housing (in shelter for 7.5 years). Junior and Maggie are sleeping in a car. Jean and Katrina are living in shelter and keep having things stolen while they sleep. Steve is living in a rooming house and getting tired waiting on an apartment. Janet has a lot of medical issues and used Deb’s phone to talk to her sister for the first time in 5 mos.
Thanks to our followers for helping us care for our friends on the streets of Brockton.
