Jesus on the Streets of Attleboro - September 10, 2022
Here’s an update from our team from Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro that served in Attleboro on Saturday.
It was a beautiful day in Attleboro to serve the Lord, and he used us to bless about 40 folks. Apologies in advance for only a few pictures, we were very busy with serving. It was a tough time for us in some respects, as our team and the folks we serve, are still struggling with the passing of our friend, Ronda's. A service will be held for her next Sunday at 1pm, in the parking lot where we serve most of our friends. Please pray for good weather, and a big turnout.
There is also a lot of anxiety, as some folks without housing, are worried about another fall/winter outside. Fred is one of those living outside, and trying desperately to get to Maine where he has family, and a better chance at housing. We’re very excited that he’s thinking of participating in a bible study. Fred is asking for prayers to get to Maine, and to better control his temper. Lloyd was really down today, and worried about life outside, especially with the winter coming. Pray for Lloyd to seek the help he needs, and to get the housing he deserves. Mario and Walter were very grateful for their new pants, and the services that are provided to them. Thank you for the prayers for improved health for Ms. LeBlanc’s daughter, as she continues to improve from heart surgery in Florida.
The good news for the day, came at our last stop. We had been visiting a campsite in the woods, for 4 months now, where we knew some folks were living. A few of us wondered if this would be the last time, we’d try to make contact. We had left some notes for them explaining who we were, that we wanted to help them as much as we could, and we left some provisions each month. When we announced ourselves this month, they came out to meet us. They are Eric and Carrie, and our friend Bob is living close by, although we didn't see him. Eric and Carrie explained that during the torrential rain last week, they lost most of their clothes, and their tent and campsite were badly damaged. We were going to order them a tent, but them the Holy Spirit, told us to look in the back of the truck, behind the third row of seats. There we found a brand new tent, sleeping bag, and several mats and pillows from our friend Joanne. Eric and Carrie were so grateful. We look forward to serving them again. Please pray for Eric and Carrie, for them to seek help, and to get housing.
Thank you to all who help LYNN Ministries reach the invisible among us.
