Jesus on the Streets (in the sunshine) - June 11, 2023
Today was a beautiful day to be serving the Lord in Brockton where we provided 118 meals of Thai chicken casserole to our friends on the streets. Many asked for seconds. Times are getting desperate already this summer where we’ve doubled the number of tents given out this year and it’s becoming a significant expense. (Decent tents cost about $60 each, and anyone who’s camped knows that’s not a durable tent.) There were multiple ambulances called to the park nearby for overdoses and I spoke with/ prayed for one of the police officers trying to help our friend Dave. Deb and I had a line of people waiting to pray with us, or in some other form of need, and I sometimes feel like our team on the food line don’t realize just how critical they are to everything this ministry is doing. We love you guys! Here are some of the prayer requests.
- Richelle is struggling to understand how to fill out the paperwork she needs to apply for housing. We need prayers for someone to help her.
- Berlin is new to us but a long time on the streets and was very thankful.
- Our friend Derek returned and is in good health. We’re praying he can get his stolen phone replaced so he can get basic services.
- Jean (a guy) and Lisa were thankful for tents and extended time of prayer.
- Tracy told us our friend Tony needs prayer to recover from his last dose of chemo and his feeding tube came out.
- Officer Delcio accepted prayers to finish his shift safely.
- Brittany is hoping to get into rehab on Monday. We’re praying she’ll go to the Champion program and get checked in.
- Russell is praying for all the homeless in the park.
- Sammy has been sober 21 days! Go Sammy go!
Thank you to all our friends and supporters! Your prayers and support are making a difference.
