Jesus on the Streets (in the rain) - April 25, 2021
Our team served 58 people today, in the rain, in Brockton, without us. (Once a month they make Deb and I take a weekend off, and this was the weekend.) They had an incredible experience and were joined by Pastor Adam and his daughter Eden. (Our friends on the street love to see young people out serving, and we feel it’s important for the next generation to really see the people that are around them.)
Our friend Christina was having a bad day, suspicious and angry at everyone for what seems like no reason, but we know she is experiencing things inside her head that we don’t understand. Unfortunately this tends to scare some of the people on our teams, but Ang and Eric handled it nicely.
At one of our stops, where we use an empty parking lot, the owner put up a fence, which made it more difficult to serve, but the team figured out a way. The team saw Shorty, who’s been AWOL for almost a year, but it turns out she’s safe and it was good to reconnect.
The team reported a really good day of service, despite the cold and wet, and Deb and I thank you for the R&R!
