Jesus on the Streets (3rd Saturday) - February 18, 2023
The 3rd Saturday of the month is when we serve in multiple locations across Brockton. It was a beautiful day but felt surprisingly cold after being outside for almost 5 hours however some of our friends are living out there all day/night. Needle Park was empty and very few people were on the streets. Many people were in a nearby warming shelter and so we only served 55 meals of Shepherd’s Pie. However it’s less about the food and clothes and more about the love and affirmation we provide.
There were a wide range of prayer requests:
Mark and I shared our stories of coming to know Christ and the miracles we’ve seen in our lives. He asked for prayers for his girlfriend and to make a positive impact as he’s sleeping in the shelter.
Raoul asked for prayers for his family, children, grand children, enemies and for his sins to be forgiven
Patty is asking for a hedge of protection around her
Mystic is asking for reconciliation and restoration with her family
Clara lost 3 loved ones in 2022, most recently her brother
Elizabeth is asking for healing for her boyfriend
Kathleen is fearing for her life for when her abusive ex-boyfriend gets out of jail
Patrick is in severe physical and emotional pain
Thank you so much for your contributions of money, clothes and most importantly prayer, which ensures we are able to keep serving the least of these.
