Celebrating Our Volunteers and Supporters - June 4, 2022
We had an amazing day celebrating the volunteers and supporters of LYNN Ministries and praying for direction for our next stage of service and growth. We are halfway through our 12th year of service and this is the first time we have celebrated all our volunteers and sponsors. Since its inception, LYNN Ministries has served over 32,000 meals on city streets and in the woods. But this ministry is not about food and clothes, it’s about restoring dignity to the least and the lost who spend much of their time navigating life on the streets. A sense of dignity is the first step toward a sense of belonging and purpose in God’s kingdom, which is the start of the journey to salvation in Christ. Over 55 people joined us for a celebration breakfast, worship, and prayer.
Troy Bourne led us in worship, which was appropriate because he played a crucial role in the founding of LYNN Ministries, joining us on our first trip to Brockton in December, 2010. Randy Tammany came out of the audience to join Troy playing the Cajon. Nate Puzey filled in last minute helping us with AV equipment (thank you Nate!). Pastor Scott Lyerly offered a brief message based on Romans 1 and then led an extended time of intercessory prayer along with Pastor Larry Smith and our daughter Erika. Our guests were asked to write down whatever words or messages God placed on their hearts, to help guide LYNN Ministries into our next phase of service. It was an incredibly moving time. We finished with the group praying over our board of directors for guidance and protection as we continue to serve the least and lost in southeastern Massachusetts. This was an incredibly powerful time, with the entire board moved to tears by the power of the Holy Spirit moving among us.
I regret that we didn’t get a group photo or even a photo with our board. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us and pray for us! We are so very blessed to have you serving God with us!
