Brockton - September 7, 2025
Sunday it rained. A lot. But we served shepherds pie to 73 of our friends on the streets of Brockton. Something about foul weather makes it perfect for ministry work. There is a bond that forms in shared hardship but the impact of the weather is much harder on their lives than on ours.
The team was amazing! We had volunteers from Church of Emmanuel, St. Mary's Foxboro and South Shore Community Church.
We have a number prayer requests to share:
– AJ is praying for a better day.
– Bruins John is praying for affordable housing after a rent increase.
– Sheila is praying for safety.
– Lisa 1 is waiting on a new bank card because someone got hold of her previous card and cleaned out her account
– Reschel is praying for her boyfriend Chris, who is in the hospital with a swollen leg.
– Enoch was so thankful to get a blanket and poncho.
– Wilfredo was praying for his family.
– Mike is praying for Kathleen who is in heaven and for protection for himself and for his family
– Kat is praying for peace on the streets.
– Lisa 2 was distraught because she had to call 911 for a friend and now she’s worried if theyre OK. She also has surgery coming up.
– Susan said that the bridge overpasses have been cleared out so more people are scrambling for safe places to sleep.
– Kevin is praying for the rain to stop.
– Russell was pleased to see us but did not accept much.
– Kaffe was pleased to see us and is thankful for a great year.
– Jerome is praying for patience
– Shaun got an ultrasound on his amputated leg but won’t have the results for another week. He gets a new socket for his artificial leg later this month and is hoping to get elevated up the priority housing list.
– Gabriel was just pleased to receive a blessing.
- Jimmy remembered me and asked about my family as we prayed together
As we wrapped up at Dunkin‘ Donuts, the manager gave one of our team members the nickname “Babygirl Machiatto” (it wasn’t me).
Thank you all for supporting this ministry which so many feel is vital to their well-being.
