Brockton - October 19, 2024

Saturday was an amazing day serving 74 people on the streets of Brockton. There were a couple other ministries also out serving the homeless, which was really encouraging to see more of the faith community caring for the least of these. It was the 3rd Saturday so we had a lot of clothes to give out. We are so thankful to Church of Emmanuel for renovating their kitchen and letting us use it to prepare Sloppy Joes and vegetables, along with fresh fruit and home baked goods. Our family has been facing a number of ongoing medical issues, but when I get out on the streets I am able to put my difficulties behind and focus on our friends living in desperate circumstances and it fills me with such joy to be serving them in tangible ways, and praying God’s power and Christ’s blessing over them. It puts my own troubles in perspective and I feel God lightening my load. Here are this week’s prayer requests:

- Cathy is so incredibly hungry, and desperately wants her own apartment but asked if she could pray for the upcoming surgeries within my family.

- Andrea is sad because her daughter just had her 13th birthday and she couldn’t be with her. She is still struggling with the heartbreak of Bobby’s murder.

- Jean is a Haitian man praying for God’s provision, and for a job.

- Donna H is praying for housing

- GQ John is praying for my family’s medical challenges.

- Jamie misses her family, her mom and 3 boys

- Diana needs surgery (something’s broken and needs a pin to fix it)

- Maria fell and hurt her knee and shoulder, and her hip has fibromyalgia. We anointed her with oil, prayed over her, and she prayed over us.

- Tex is praying for my family members that need surgery.

- Emmanuel is Haitian, speaks 6 languages, and wants to be able to work but the government won’t yet let him.

- Alfred is praying for housing, safety, sobriety, and finances. He seems so sad but readily accepted prayer. (It may sound perverse but it’s always heartwarming when people cry during prayer because you know the Holy Spirit is pressing in on them.)

- Marie asked for, and received, communion. She is always so happy when we serve her.

- Dillon and Tiffany have a baby on the way and Dillon wants to provide for his family but needs a job.

- Patrick is a veteran and needs help from the VA, but is getting no support. He desperately misses his daughter.

Thank you all for welcoming us into your hearts through your Facebook news feed. We so appreciate your love, support and prayer. May God bless you richly for caring about those in need.
