Brockton - November 9, 2025
Here is an update from Sunday’s LYNN Ministries team that served in Brockton. There were volunteers from Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, St. Mary's Foxboro, Grace Chapel, Waters Church.
It was predicted to rain around noon today, but the rain held off until after we finished our service. Whether it’s called coincidence or luck, this one is going into our jar of little blessings. Across 3 stops on the street of Brockton, we were blessed to serve 126 hot meals, plenty of hot drinks and sweet treats, and gave out winter clothing and blankets to our friends.
While trying to wrap up our service, the words that come to mind are “community” and “showing up”. We are grateful for God who keeps showing up in unexpected times, places and details. We are grateful for our team members who keep showing up regardless of what they are going through in life. We are grateful for the countless behind-the-scenes volunteers, churches and organizations who keep showing up with their gifts of cooking, baking, donations and prayers.
One of our regular guests shared that she is "living in hell” when we greeted her. While feeling heavy-hearted and frustrated for her living conditions and her emotional reality, we also noticed that she always has someone pushing her in her wheelchair. In the face of mounting darkness, community and acts of kindness are the lights that shine through from heaven, reminding us that love and hope are never lost.
Please join us in praying for the many needs of our friends:
