Brockton - November 2, 2025
It was a cool, beautiful day out on the streets of Brockton as we served 114 meals to our friends. There is growing concern about social services availability and support like SNAP, but in general, our friends were very well behaved. It’s getting colder and more requests are coming in for coats and boots which we will start to delivering soon.
We had volunteers from: Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, Stonehill College
Prayer requests include the following:
– Richard is praying that he can get out of Brockton, hopefully to Florida.
– Francisco is hoping to move into a new apartment this week. He says he has surgery soon for a lump on the back of his head. And he’s asking for prayers for his daughter who is in middle school.
– William told us it was his birthday and so we sang to him. He also asked for prayer.
– Michelle is asking for prayers about everything and when I asked her more specifics, she said she would love to have a permanent home and a job.
– Bruins John was quiet today and we hope he is OK.
– Mike told us that his birthday is coming up in early December. He is asking for prayers for the health of his family, for better living circumstances for him, and for his finances.
– Sara is asking for prayers of protection. She believes that everyone is lying to her and she doesn’t trust anyone or anything.
– Nori is asking for us to pray to break her cycle of homelessness. She has been on the street for years and she feels like it’s just getting worse.
– Russell was telling us that there is nowhere to escape the wind at night. He has found some spots, but the wind has been so strong that it just swirls around and freezes him.
– Marcie is asking for guidance to get out of her addiction and hopefully out of Brockton.
– Ashley is so tired of carrying everything she owns all the time. She says she tries to stay alone so she doesn’t get robbed. She’s in pain and she doesn’t feel like she can keep going the way she is.
– Kendra has a baby on the way and her wife recently died. She is asking for prayers of protection.
– Nelson has been feeling down and our prayer time was very emotional.
– PJ is praying for well-being.
– Jay said, “I am good, no prayer.” I told him I’d be praying anyway and his comment was, “I know.”
– Christine is praying for housing, for better relationships, for her health and for her budget.
– Jorge is praying for strength in his current situation. He’s also praying for work and to get back to church.
– Alberta is pleased to be back in the shelter, but ultimately she wants a permanent home and she’s praying for her finances so that she can achieve that. She is also praying to see her children again.
– General prayers go out for Roland, Luscene, Kayshawn, and Jordan.
It was a wonderful day of service out on the streets and we are so very thankful to all those who make this ministry possible. Times are getting tough so your prayers are as important now as ever.
