Brockton - July 21, 2024

Here is the update from the LYNN Ministries team at The Fellowship who served in Brockton last Sunday.

Today we served over 100 people on North Main Street and behind the library in Brockton. The beautiful weather meant many were out and eager to come by to see us. At the end of this note you'll see a link to the list of prayer requests we received today. We encourage you to find a few names off the list and commit to praying for these people.

I want to take a moment to highlight two encounters today that are representative of the hurt and the hope we often see on a Sunday afternoon. First, we were met by Michelle, a young woman living on the streets, battling addiction, with no family, and several months pregnant. We prayed over MIchelle. We asked for Jesus to provide deliverance from addiction, protection for her and her precious baby, and for the needed medical care to be provided to Michelle and her child. Michelle wept with gratitude as she expressed how utterly alone in the world she feels. Our hearts break for Michelle. We ask for Jesus's miraculous intervention in MIchelle's life!

We also met up with George, an older gentleman whom we've served for years, but who's been absent of late. Our van was parked near one of the railroad bridges under which several homeless congregate. George spotted our van from a distance and walked up to greet us and share his good news. George has found part-time work and he now has medical insurance that allows him to get the treatment he needs for blood clots. George also brought a gift - a box of potato chips which he asked us to pass out as we served meals to the homeless. We joined with Goerge in praising God for his goodness and for the spiritual healing He is bringing in George's life. This encounter with Goerge happened just yards away from one of the darkest, most depressing places we visit in Brockton. We were reminded that there is no darkness so great that the light of Christ cannot penetrate it. George brought that light today.

Thank you friends for your part in this ministry. Jesus saves!
