Brockton - January 18, 2026

Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served on Sunday out of The Fellowship church in Easton.

When the weather is cold and wet, we never know what to expect on the streets of Brockton. Today turned out to be quieter than usual (perhaps 65 people were served), but filled with the presence of the Lord. When we arrived at our North Main Street stop, Christina, a friend we see on the streets every time we're out, was stomping around in the street shouting obscenities at passersby and no one in particular. This behavior, though somewhat heightened today, is not unusual for Christina. The extent of our typical interaction with Christina is a greeting which she seldom acknowledges, and often reacts to with a nonsensical slur. Today, seeing Christina in such an agitated state, one member of our team suggested we pray for her, which we did. We asked for God's peace to invade her soul and chase out the darkness that haunts Christina. We prayed the Spirit's protection over our serving site and the people gathered there. What followed was a truly miraculous transformation. Christina became quiet. She came through the line for food, and she conversed with our drink servers at the end of the line. These things never happen. If you knew Christina, you would know this was miraculous. Thank you, Jesus!

We are constantly reminded that Jesus is present in the darkest, most rundown, desperate places and situations. He brings healing to the sick and makes the broken whole. That's what he's done for us, and it is our prayer for everyone we meet on the streets.
