Attleboro - October 12, 2024

Please accept my apologies for being late posting on a double-header weekend (Attleboro and Brockton). My excuse is that I have been traveling for business. Here’s the update from Mark and the LYNN Ministries team at Evangelical Covenant Church, Attleboro about their service on Saturday in Attleboro.

It was a great day to be out serving the Lord this past Saturday in Attleboro. We were able to serve about 50 people in total, across 4 locations in the city, with prayer, encouragement, home-made baked goods, fruit, snacks, and clothing.

- First, we need to celebrate Beth and Geno, who continue to make strides forward. They told us they are getting married in November, after ten years together! Praise the Lord! We are very happy for them, and pray that they will finally get housing. Geno is working part-time, and Beth’s continuing to look for work and housing, and contemplating going back to complete her degree. Continued prayers for them.

- Regarding Eric and Carrie, many of you know that their campsite burned to the ground 3 weeks ago. We were able to get them re-started with a new tent, tarps, sleeping bags, blankets, and some clothes. We did not see Eric, who was out replacing the phone he lost in the fire, but Carrie was doing well, as good as we’ve seen her in some time. She said that they are doing pretty well, with clothing coming from other sources. We continue to pray for change in their life, and that they can continue progressing towards getting housing one day.

- Several of our folks living outside, had to pick up and move suddenly, as the city wants to use the land for other purposes. This affected about 4 campsites, and 6 people, among them Bob, Ron, Richie, George, and Debbie.

- There was a new family today that we served, a woman and 4 children. They are living in a camper donated by an area church, but the kids have little in the way of clothes, and are nervous about going to new schools.

- On the positive side, our friend Jim is in AA and is now attending a church regularly!!

- Our long-time friend Bob looked and sounded great. He is working with his case-worker on getting housed in Taunton. Please pray that this works out for Bob, as often a change of scenery can work wonders for our folks living outside.

- Prayers for Derek and Sandy, who have relocated to Taunton. Paul is very concerned about being outside this winter.

- Prayers for all of these folks that we have visited, who are currently outside: Charlie, Paul, John, Beth, Geno, Bob, George, Debbie, Sandy, Derek, Eric, Carrie, Ron, Richie, Mike, Jessica. We know there are others, and some on the verge of being homeless.

We greatly appreciate all who contribute in any way to this ministry through prayer, service, baking, cooking, donations, it is all needed and felt by God’s children. God Bless you all, and Thank You!

Well said, thank you ECC team!
