Attleboro - June 13, 2026
Here is an update from the LYNN Ministries team that served in Attleboro on Saturday.
It was a beautiful and hot, sunny day to be out serving the Lord this past Saturday in Attleboro. We had some encouraging news, that at least temporarily, our friends living outside in Attleboro will not have their campground closed. This turn of events is largely due to some of the residents, and a group of volunteers from Beacon Covenant Church spending many days cleaning the woods of debris and discarded camp items. We are hopeful that our friends will have a chance to reside in their home campground on more than just a temporary basis, as Beacon has equipped the folks living outside with means to keep the area clean. We were able to serve about 45-50 folks at various sites throughout the city. We are aware of at least 15-20 folks living outside on a regular basis, but that number is probably on the low side.
A lot of people are in need of prayer this month, with some noted below. We are most worried about Patricia, our friend in her 90's who owns the Hobby Hut in Attleboro and has been working daily by herself for decades after her husband's passing. We stop by every month to bring her some cheer as she only has 1 grandson in the area. We found that her shop is locked up, and we ask for prayers that she is not seriously ill. We really have no way to contact her, so prayers are appreciated. (If anyone knows how to reach her please contact us.)
Charlie - Charlie was housed on a temporary basis in the shelter, but with anxiety, it was really hard for him to be with 7 other men sharing a single room. He is outside again, and asking for prayers as he is working, and saving for a dependable vehicle.
Bob S. - Continuing to make good progress, he's gotten his ID, which has enabled him to apply for unemployment benefits owed to him. At the same time, he is in the shelter adjusting well and looking for work.
Paul - Has been working when he can but is still living outside. He's been the most active person in the campground working on cleanup, and he's looking for more permanent work.
Eric and Carrie - Managing okay, but living outside, and trying to stay positive on work and reconnecting with family.
Beth and Geno - Staying with family and friends when they can but living outside at times as well. Beth continues to heal from surgery, and it has been slow, affecting her ability to work.
Dawn - Fairly new to the area and to our team, she is living outside, and in need of a tent, blankets and other provisions.
Val - Living outside and really struggling with the day-to-day reality of it. She's taking care of her mom a couple of weeks a month and living outside the other weeks. She wants more connection with her family and we pray for this.
