Jesus on the Streets - September 25, 2022
Here’s a report from our team that served on Sunday while Deb and I were away.
We were blessed with a marvelous team and a pleasant overcast day. The rain held off until we had served all of our food. Deb and Tom were joined by Jairah, Alicia, Victoria, Joanne and Sam. This was Sam’s first time out with LYNN Ministries and we were grateful for his Spanish language talents used in serving our friends at the Library. We served 109 meals and sold out of snacks, fruit and dessert.
The theme today was insecurity with the nights growing colder as Fall begins and Winter approaches. Getting a hot meal was appreciated, but anxiety was in the air.
Overall our friends need prayers for their families, shelter and security. More than a few need prayers for relief from physical pain and mobility issues.
- Jimmy’s friend needs prayers for his leg, which is making it difficult for him to get around.
- We prayed with ReRe for her and her children.
- We gave thanks for Corinna who is providing Dawn with much needed shelter.
- We also give thanks for Raymond who is helping Steve focus.
- Steve needs prayers as he feels unsettled and impatient with bureaucracy.
- Frank continues to have trouble walking.
- Christina was in a good place (yay!)
- Like many, Michele needs prayers for shelter.
- Near the end of the day, we were able to pray and have a meaningful moment with Victor, who responded by providing Joanne with a yellow rose.
- Joanne and Jairah were able to make a connection with Jenna. Please pray for her and her children, and that she can get her green card that will allow her to work and find shelter.
- Eddy asked for prayers for Kristen, who has pancreatic issues and has lost weight.
Though we could feel the anxiety and fear for a lack of shelter and food, we are grateful for the moments we shared today with our friends. Lord, thank you for the love and support that allowed us to serve today.
Thank you so much to our supporters!
