Jesus on the Streets - November 19, 2023
Here is Sunday’s update from the LYNN Ministries team from The Fellowship in Easton who served 113 meals on the streets of Brockton.
We had a wonderful day of serving and fellowshipping with our friends on the streets of Brockton. The sun was shining, and our opportunities to engage with and listen to friends were many. God provided us with a Haitian Creole speaker, Junot, who contributed valuable interpretation skills. What a blessing!
As always, there are encounters that are uplifting, those that are heartbreaking, and many that simply reflect the realities of life on the streets. We often feel it difficult to see needy people, share hope in Christ, and say goodbye till next time. It seems somehow insufficient, yet this is the opportunity God's given us, and we trust him to bring along others to continue the work.
We ask you to find time this week to pray for dear friends who have great needs.
- Pray for George who is going into the hospital for evaluation on Nov 30. He was recently diagnosed with blood clots in his brain and he is concerned it's having an effect on his memory. George is a dear friend who cherishes our prayers.
- Pray for Mike and Kathleen. They have some money to pay for housing, but need a break in finding a place to live.
- Pray for Rochelle whose boyfriend Steve died on the streets. She is asking what happens when we die. Searching for answers and hope.
-Pray for Kettelie that she will find peace and reconciliation with her son and grandchildren. Kettelie shed tears of heartache for her son.
- Pray for Cheryl. What a day we had with her. Cheryl came to us an angry woman, frustrated with many situations seemingly conspiring against her. After talking with team members, praying with one of our ladies, and feeling listened to, Cheryl left a different woman. We are so thankful for the demonstration of God's Spirit working through team members to speak love to Cheryl.
Thank you to all who partner with us through prayer, food prep, clothing donations, and serving to be a blessing to the least of these.
