Jesus on the Streets in Attleboro (on a hot day) - May 14, 2022

Here’s a report from Saturday’s team from Evangelical Covenant Church who served in Attleboro.

It was a very beautiful, albeit hot day in Attleboro, but a great day to serve our friends. A scheduling change meant we served about half of our normal 50 folks at this time of year. Still, it was great to connect with our friends, and try to share prayer, encouragement, and a listening ear, as well as clothes, cold drinks, and some fruit, home made baked goods, and snacks. We hope to resolve the schedule for next month.

Prayers for this month are needed for Carlos who is looking for a new construction job, and healing from knee surgery. He is also owed money for construction work that he did for his last employer, who did not pay him and won’t answer his calls. Lloyd is in a tough spot, as he has lost his temporary housing at a friend’s apartment, and is now out on the streets. He is usually a positive guy, but was really down today. Our friend Bob was not in a good place either, as he lost his place in a rooming house. He was letting other folks stay with him, who were homeless, and his landlord evicted him. It is a common occurrence for our friends, who try to help each other when they’re in a bind. Bob completed a sober program, but says he needs to get back into AA and another recovery program. Prayers for this are really needed, as Bob has been struggling with his addiction for a very long time. Mike looked good, and was sober, but the cart that had been donated to him was burned by someone while he was away from his campsite. Robin feels she needs to relocate and needs discernment, and a miracle from God. She’s a strong woman of faith, but is worried about how her relocation may affect others. She knows God can use any means possible to help her. Richie told us Ronda has completed her chemo treatments. All praise and glory to God for His healing of Ronda, who we did visit at her home. Ronda often serves with us, and had a very tough recovery from cancer, but is feeling much better now. She wants to come out to serve with us in June! We also visited Miss LeBlanc, and she has asked for continued prayers for the health of her daughter, who is having a tough time recovering from heart surgery.

Thank you to all our supporters and prayer warriors who make this ministry possible.
