Jesus on the Streets - December 10, 2023
Today was warmer than last week as we served 123 meals to our friends on the streets of Brockton. And then, of course, it rained. (It’s almost funny.) We had a phenomenal team join us from Waters Church as we served across 3 locations. Our friends were so grateful for the opportunity to have a hot meal, and to be seen and heard, and to receive prayer.
- We saw Rashawn for the first time in months but he wouldn’t interact with us.
- Stephanie asked for prayers for her unborn baby as she has been hospitalized for dehydration.
- Will had a birthday last week so we sang for him. He was so happy!
- Kerilynne is praying that she can return to sobriety. Her sister died recently and her 29 months of sobriety came to a crashing halt. Now she wants to get into a detox program to continue her journey.
- Janet is pleased that her housing appointment went well and is hoping to be accepted into the program.
- Michael is heartbroken that his good friend Brien died of an overdose last week.
- Angel was distraught as she has lost most of her family, but it was such a joy to watch another of our friends on the street (Logan) minister to her in her suffering.
- John is back in Brockton after moving to Maine a few years ago. He was in a bad motorcycle accident and had to have facial reconstruction. He has lost a lot of weight but seems healthy otherwise. We’re praying he gets back on his feet.
- Obie is praying to reconnect with his mother.
- XlDongo and Abdou from Senegal have been in Brockton for 2 months. Abdou was so happy to receive an Empowerment Plan Coat to stay warm.
- Joe is praying for resilience and strength as he fights for sobriety.
- Aldo prayed for our team and it was amazing!
Thank you again to today’s team and to all our donors, followers, and prayer warriors!
