Brockton - December 1, 2024

Here is an update from the team that served in Brockton on Dec 1.

It was a bitter cold day Sunday, but the sun was out as we served 96 meals on the streets of Brockton. Although it seemed pretty quiet at Pastor Roberto’s Church with a shorter than usual line; everyone was grateful for a warm turkey dinner, warm hugs, conversations and of course prayers!

At the Library we witnessed a huge increase of hungry, and cold friends coming from the park to see us while we welcomed them to our table. We ran out of hand warmers, and gave out lots of gloves/hats/blankets as everyone seemed to be suffering from the first colder nights/days in Brockton. One of our own team members took the coat off his own back to give to one our friends-the gentleman was so appreciative!

There were lots of prayers to be heard

- Mike and Sarah need housing so she can get her son Carson (almost 2) back.

- Chris asked for prayers for Richelle who is in hospital right now.

- Anonymous asked for protection.

- Mary is new to the streets. Staying at father’s bills.

- Borris very gentle guy with Anxiety and panic attacks.

- Robert who just asked for prayers -Nothing specific.

- Adelielson-his Mom has lupus but they recently found polyps so they are looking to find out more and asked for prayers for peace in the waiting and healing and the right resources to deal with her health issues. He was deeply moved by the opportunity to pray.

- Carrie is ready to go to rehab w husband. Going to talk to folks at Mainspring on Monday. Prayers that they can find a bed and deal with the difficulties of rehab.

- Brett is new on streets from Springfield. Asked for prayers that he and his family can work thru some stuff and that they can be supportive of him.

- Paul and his girlfriend prayers that they continue to stay out of trouble/they are staying away from the park-they were Very cold.

Thank you to Church of Emmanuel, South Shore Community Church, Grace Chapel Foxboro, St. Mary's Foxboro and all who continue to support this vital ministry on the streets of Brockton.
