Brockton - April 5, 2026

Easter Sunday was rainy and wet, as we served 68 of our friends on the streets of Brockton. We also gave out colored hard boiled eggs that came from Michelle Kelly’s students. Our friends loved the special touch of Easter.

We made 4 stops and got absolutely soaked (did I mention it poured rain?). As a result, it was a great day! Our friends rely on us in good weather and bad, to show up providing something hot to eat and friendly conversation and prayer. When the weather is bad, our friends know we’re out there because we care and because they are important.

There were a lot of seagulls in the park today. It seemed like a scene from the Hitchcock movie, “The Birds”.

Beyond the meal, hot drinks and rain ponchos, we also served communion to 11 of our friends who were Christian. In the middle of one prayer the skies opened up and we got drenched. As I tried to help Wilfredo put on his poncho my Bible landed in a puddle. It will dry out so I hope God understands.

Today we had volunteers from the following churches: Church of Emmanuel, Jesus Revolution Church, St. Mary's Foxboro

Prayers were requested by the following people:

* Shaggy - someone stole his bike even though it was locked up. He has trouble walking which is now his only means of moving about. He’s really upset and needs prayers to find peace in this city.

* Nitika - her apartment was condemned because of black mold, so she’s now homeless and lost custody of her niece. She wants to get into a clinic to get cleaned up and start over.

* Michelson wants prayers for his family.

* Wilfredo wants prayers for everyone on Easter and for the team.

* Mark told me that he thought God had forgotten about him, now thinks maybe he forgot about God.

* Michelle is praying for health and housing.

* Larry is praying to be safe and for blessings of health

* Becca is now 3 weeks sober! She wants prayers for the less fortunate and for our troops overseas.

* Anthony has been under a lot of stress but he has his ID and SSI so he’s hoping to get housing soon.

* Natasha is praying to recover from addiction and to get off the streets. She misses her two children and was crying while we prayed for her.

* Russell has a badly infected finger and needs prayers.

* Angie has a bad cough and is praying for health and safety on the streets.

* Rich is praying to get his life back on track.

* Maya is praying for a recent job interview

* Caden had an interview at HomeDepot and is hoping for good news. He’s also hoping for an interview at Cumberland Farms.

* Tree says things are going well for her.

* Seth is hoping for an EMT interview.

* Doug, a veteran, said we forgot to give him a chocolate egg so he’s filing an After Action Report. (Funny guy.) He needs prayers.

* General prayers for: Sheila, Freddy, Wayne & Rebecca, Jim, Scotty, Nathan, Thaddeus, Alexa.
